Nottingham Visitor Guide
Use this guide to choose a location and plan the broad shape of your stay. Exact opening times, event schedules and transport services can change, so check the relevant venue or transport operator before travelling.
Nottingham city centre
The city centre brings together shopping, restaurants, nightlife and major visitor destinations. Friars Court in The Park Estate is within walking distance of the centre and gives families or groups a three-bedroom self-catering base with one off-street parking space.
Nottingham Castle and The Park Estate
Nottingham Castle is a central visitor destination beside The Park Estate. Check Nottingham Castle’s official visitor information for current tickets, opening details and events. Friars Court is useful for guests who want to stay near the centre without relying on an unverified journey-time claim. Explore accommodation in The Park Estate or our city-centre stay guide.
Motorpoint Arena
Motorpoint Arena is a city-centre events venue. Event dates, finishing times and travel conditions vary, so check the venue’s official Getting Here information and plan your return route before setting out. Our city-centre accommodation page explains the verified relationship between Friars Court and central Nottingham without promising a fixed travel time.
Arnold
Arnold offers a town-centre setting with shops, cafés, bars and public transport. Nottingham Direct Stays has five Arnold properties: four studios and one two-bedroom apartment. Town-centre activity can create some noise, and individual access arrangements should be checked on each property page.
Universities, QMC and Warhammer World
The University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University, Queen’s Medical Centre and Warhammer World are important destinations across the city. Routes and journey times depend on the property, time of day and transport method. We have therefore not published unverified distances or dedicated destination pages; contact us before booking if access to one of these places is central to your stay.
Transport basics
Nottingham can be explored by bus, tram, taxi, car and on foot, depending on the starting point and destination. Service patterns, parking rules and road conditions can change. Use Nottingham City Council’s travel information and NET’s tram information to plan with current details, and check any property-specific parking instructions before travel.
